The Temptation of Jesus Christ – revised

Right after Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist, the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke tell the story of Jesus being led into the wilderness for 40 days fasting and being tempted by Satan,

yet the gospel of John says nothing about 40 days ritual in the wilderness hanging out with the devil!

Lets compare the gospels that do include this story

Matthew 4:1-2

1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

Mark1:12

12And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness.13And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

Luke 4:1

1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

Why would the Spirit drive Jesus Christ into the wilderness to be tempted for 40 days?

What Spirit are we talking about?

Is fasting and temptation by the devil for 40 days a prerequisite for proof that Jesus Christ is righteous enough to be the Son of God?

I don’t believe this is true.

I think this fast and the temptations was included in the Synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke to deceive!

Luke DOES NOT include that the angels ministered unto him! Why not?

Wasn’t it written (in the gospel of Matthew and Mark)?

Did he not hear, nor see, and neither perceive what was written in the gospel of Matthew and Mark?

Mark does not include the three temptations that are in the gospels of Matthew and Luke!

——————————————————–

Matthew 4:3

3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke says this stone, Matthew says these stones!

Luke 4:3-4

3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God

Where in the bible is:

“IT is Written” that man shall not live by bread alone but in the gospel of Matthew for Luke and in the gospel of Luke for Matthew!

They only support each other……wow thats really mysterious

———————————————–

Matthew 4:5-7

5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God

This is referring to Psalm 91 but taken totally out of context and to whom it was written about!

Either Matthew is mixed up, or Luke is mixed up as to the order of temptations!

Were they there in the wilderness with Jesus Christ in his temptations?

No!

How would they know whether Jesus was tempted by the devil?

They didn’t even know Jesus Christ!

Luke 4:5-8

5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Obviously, Luke is referring to what the gospel of Matthew and the gospel of Mark say that Jesus Christ said to Peter, but this is not in the gospel of John!

Matthew 16:23
But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Mark 8:33
But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

Sounds like Obama’s leadership.

Leading from behind.

Matthew 4:8-10

8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Either Matthew is mixed up, or Luke is mixed up as to the order of temptations!

Who is telling the truth? Matthew or Luke?

Were they in the wilderness with Jesus Christ?

We know that Luke did not know Jesus Christ but was a companion to Saul/Paul of Tarsus!

Was Matthew with Jesus Christ in the wilderness to know what the devil tempted, and in what order?

Luke 4:9-12

9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Were they there in the wilderness with Jesus Christ?

Did Luke know Jesus Christ? Obviously not. He never met him!

————————————————

Matthew 4:11

11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Luke 4:13

13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

————————————————

At the Same Time that Jesus Christ

(in the gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke)

is in the wilderness being tempted by the devil

Jesus Christ

(in the gospel of John)

attends a wedding in Cana

with his disciples and his mother.

As all of my articles have said: Matthew, Mark and Luke were not of the chosen apostles and were not witnesses and were not there.

Luke 22:28-29

28Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.29And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

I think Luke is talking about the kingdom of this world and a false Jesus Christ!

And to add insult to injury talking to Paul:

Acts 21:38
Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
